Coffee Drinks
Cappuccino
A cappuccino is espresso with equal parts steamed milk and thick foam - smaller and stronger than a latte, and the drink that most clearly reveals the quality of your espresso beans.
Of all the espresso drinks on a cafe menu, the cappuccino is the one that will expose a bad bean fastest - and reward a good one most clearly.
A cappuccino is built on the 1:1:1 rule: one part espresso, one part steamed milk, one part thick foam. A traditional Italian cappuccino totals 150-180ml and fits in a ceramic cup you can wrap both hands around. This is not a large drink. The smaller volume and the equal foam ratio make it noticeably stronger and more coffee-forward than a latte, which is precisely the point.
